Sheet Metal Frame Engineer - Job Description
  • Design and develop automotive sheet metal frame and body-in-white (BIW) structures across the product lifecycle.

  • Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for rails, cross-members, brackets, and reinforcements.

  • Ensure designs meet targets for safety, durability, stiffness, NVH, weight, cost, and manufacturability.

  • Apply GD&T principles and sheet metal best practices to support high-volume production.

  • Collaborate with CAE teams to address crash, durability, and structural performance requirements.

  • Support virtual and physical testing, analyze results, and drive design improvements.

  • Work closely with manufacturing, tooling, and suppliers to resolve producibility issues.

  • Ensure compliance with global automotive standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in design reviews, engineering change management, and launch support activities.
