Your Job
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced fiber optic interconnect solutions. This role will be instrumental in driving Molex's mission to enable high-speed, high-density optical connectivity for tomorrow's data and communication needs.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the design and validation of fiber optic components and systems, including connectors and cable assemblies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, and product management) to develop scalable optical solutions
  • Conduct simulations, prototyping, and testing of optical systems to meet performance and reliability standards
  • Drive continuous improvement in optical design processes and manufacturing techniques
  • Gain and apply comprehensive understanding of fiber optic products, installation, and test methods to all new product development projects

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
  • Mechanical design experience in new product development
  • Sound experience with parametric solid modeling (NX, Creo, SolidWorks)
  • Design experience with multiple manufacturing techniques (injection molding, insert molding, sheet-metal forming, machining, extrusion)
  • Desire to learn, be challenged and interact in a cross-functional team environment
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Within a daily commutable distance to Lisle, IL and will not require relocation assistance

For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 - $120,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
