Job description

Hudson Sheet Metal Co. is looking for a hardworking, dependable Sheet Metal Helper to join our team in Ashland, VA. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the sheet metal and fabrication trade.


Job Responsibilities


  • Assist sheet metal fabricators with daily shop and field work
  • Load, unload, move, and organize materials
  • Assist with measuring, cutting, cleaning, bending, fitting, and assembling sheet metal
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely
  • Help prepare materials and parts for fabrication and installation
  • Assist with industrial and custom fabrication projects
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow safety procedures and instructions from supervisors
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the fabrication team


Qualifications


  • Previous sheet metal, construction, fabrication, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Able to work with hand and power tools
  • Able to lift and move materials as required
  • Comfortable working in a shop and in the field on job sites
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license required
