Job description

Position Summary:

The Estimator / Project Manager - (Steel or Ironwork)

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating:

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for bids and change orders

  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to define scope

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals

  • Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases

  • Participate in scope review and pricing discussions with customers

Project Management Support:

  • Manage awarded projects from preconstruction through closeout

  • Develop project schedules, erection sequences, and phasing plans

  • Coordinate drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field communication

  • Track labor hours, materials, equipment, and overall project costs

  • Prepare and manage change orders and budget updates

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and field teams

Field & Operations Support:

  • Coordinate closely with field supervision and ironworkers

  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor progress and resolve issues

  • Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and quality standards

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Experience in construction estimating, preferably structural steel or ironwork

  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and construction documents

  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Valid driver's license and ability to visit jobsites

Preferred:

  • Project management experience in structural or specialty construction

  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, MS Project, AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar software

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
