Sheet Metal Welder/Industrial WorkerThe Sheet Metal Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding sheet metal components used in industrial, commercial, and construction applications. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, operate welding and fabrication equipment, and produce high-quality welds that meet company and industry standards. The Sheet Metal Welder works safely and efficiently while ensuring projects are completed accurately and on schedule.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders.Measure, cut, form, fit, and assemble sheet metal components.Perform MIG and TIG on light gauge stainless steel (18ga – 24ga) and carbon steel materials.Fabricate ductwork, fittings, equipment housings, supports, and custom sheet metal products.Inspect welds and finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.Operate fabrication equipment including shears, brakes, rollers, presses, plasma cutters, and grinders.Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe operating condition.Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety requirements.Collaborate with supervisors, foremen, and team members to meet production goals.Troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues and recommend corrective actions.Complete required documentation related to production, inspections, and safety.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Minimum of 1 year of sheet metal welding and fabrication experience.Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes.
