This position supports maintenance, capital projects, and plant construction activities through fabrication of ductwork, transitions, chutes, structural components, and other custom sheet metal products.The successful candidate will perform layout, cutting, forming, welding, fitting, assembly, and installation work while interpreting blueprints and specifications to ensure quality, safety, and efficient project execution.Key ResponsibilitiesMeasure, lay out, plasma cut, bend, shape, and fabricate sheet metal components of varying thicknesses.Fabricate ductwork, transitions, chutes, hoppers, and other custom sheet metal products for industrial applications.TIG weld, MIG weld, solder, bolt, screw, rivet, or bond sheet metal assemblies using appropriate fabrication methods.Lay out and mark complex dimensions and reference lines for fabrication and installation activities.Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and finish fabricated components to meet specifications and quality standards.Assemble and install ductwork, transitions, chutes, and related sheet metal systems using drawings and blueprints.Inspect fabricated assemblies and installations for accuracy and conformance using measuring instruments and layout tools.Perform basic rigging activities and signal cranes during installation operations.Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with newly installed systems and fabricated products.Operate fabrication equipment and material handling equipment safely and efficientlyMaintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a clean and safe conditionKey ResponsibilitiesInstall industrial machinery and plant equipment.Perform equipment layout work and establish reference lines for installation activities.Measure, cut, lay out, and weld carbon steel and stainless-steel materials to build supports, frames, equipment structures, and related components.Assemble and install machinery in accordance with blueprints, specifications, operation manuals, and manufacturer requirements.Perform precision alignment of machinery, motors, pumps, drives, and process equipment.Fabricate structural steel components including platforms, handrails, supports, and access structures.Apply basic principles of structural steel erection and equipment setting.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures, installation issues, and process-related equipment problems.Assist with dismantling, moving, and reinstalling equipment, conveyors, and machinery.Participate in rigging activities and signal cranes during lifting and installation operations.Maintain work areas, tools, equipment, and materials in a safe and organized condition.Job Requirements:Promotes the ADM Way and Core ValuesStrong safety performance and valuesSignificant experience in the use of power toolsAssist in the construction, repair, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.Previous experience in any of the craft areas (electrical, welding, millwright, etc.) is required.Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervisionFlexibility in accepting changeReliability in reporting to work; willingness to work overtime as requiredWillingness to participate in training to continue developing skillsTake ownership and accountability for your actions, striving for continuous improvement in performance and craftsmanship.Promote a positive, cooperative atmosphere and work effectively as part of a team.Direct industrial experience in a plant environmentKnowledge of ADM Clinton plant - a strong plusOn-the-Job Training Requirements: Complete ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental training Participate in company planned operations training Equipment training may include but not limited to JLG, forklift, non-DOT truck, reach lift, etc. Minimum RequirementsMust be 18 years or older Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal/written) Strong fundamental skills (math, reading, writing and verbal communication)Mechanical aptitude Strong safety aptitudeExperience in an Industrial Manufacturing setting and/or similar military environment (preferred) Detailed oriented and self-motivatedMotivated with a passion to learnPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsAbility to move about on a work site by ascending/descending stairs, extensive walking, climbing steps or ladders, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, or squatting frequently Ability to operate equipment or machinery that may be located at different heights with open view grating from multiple elevations or in confined spaces Ability to lift up to 50 pounds overhead Ability to traverse two (2) miles or more during the course of a workday Ambient conditions - Work area is, typically, a non-air-conditioned production environment. Working in in extreme heat and cold in all seasonal elements, both indoors and outside on a regular basis.Atmosphere: May come in contact with Dust (Peanut - known allergen), corn, cotton, canola seed, chemicals and odor Must be able to work around vibrating equipment and noise levels that may reach or exceed 85 decibels and will require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift Employees are required to wear all company provided Personal Protective Equipment (i.e., hard-hats, safety glasses, earplugs, uniforms, and steel-toed boots) in addition to job specific PPE requirements (i.e., fall protection equipment and respirators)ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.REF:112589BR Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
