Join the American Metal Coatings Team
American Metal Coatings is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Powder Coat Painter to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team in Anderson, Indiana.
This is a hands-on production position for someone who takes pride in quality work, pays close attention to detail, and works effectively as part of a team. The Powder Coat Painter is responsible for preparing parts, operating powder coating equipment, applying coatings, inspecting finished products, and supporting a safe and efficient manufacturing operation.
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Inspect materials and identify substrate defects before coating.
  • Mask and plug threads, holes, and other areas that are not to be coated.
  • Select and verify the appropriate powder for each job.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust powder coating equipment.
  • Apply powder coatings in accordance with established quality specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts and identify coating defects.
  • Clean and maintain powder guns, booths, and related equipment.
  • Record powder usage and maintain required inventory records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with production team members.
  • Cross-train and assist in other production areas as needed.
What Weโ€™re Looking For
Preferred qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Approximately two years of powder coating or industrial coating experience.
  • Inventory or material-tracking experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
Candidates should also be able to read and follow work instructions, production specifications, and safety procedures.
Physical Demands
This is an active manufacturing position. The physical demands associated with performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, include:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and frequent movement throughout the workday, including frequent bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling, and repetitive movements associated with powder coating operations.
  • Occasionally lifting, moving, positioning, or otherwise handling materials and parts weighing up to 65 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment. Employees may be exposed to elevated noise levels, dust, powder coating materials, moving equipment, and elevated temperatures, particularly during summer months.
Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn, and all applicable safety procedures must be followed.
