Job description

Wizards of the Coast is seeking a Library & Information Science specialist to support the foundational design and establishment of a scalable, enterprise-ready archiving system for game art and related creative assets.

This opportunity is well suited for MLIS or related students with an interest in archives, digital asset management, metadata standards, taxonomy design, and long-term preservation. This project will provide hands-on experience designing an enterprise-scale archiving system, applying archival theory to an important, real-world need for the D&D team.

What You'll Do:
  • Contribute to the design and documentation of a structured archiving framework for game art and creative assets
  • Assist in defining and applying metadata standards, taxonomies, and controlled vocabulary
  • Support organization and documentation of existing physical and/or digital art assets
  • Develop recommendations for improved workflows and asset lifecycle management
  • Create documentation outlining archival best practices and intake processes
  • Collaborate with creative, legal, and production stakeholders
What You'll Bring:
  • Experience with MLIS or a related program
  • Interest in archives, metadata, digital asset management and preservation
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage information systematically
  • Ability to propose structured solutions to open-ended problems
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive materials responsibly
  • Basic knowledge of D&D
Nice to Have:
  • Master's degree in library Informational Science or currently enrolled in a graduate degree of the same
  • Coursework or experience in archival description, metadata standards, or DAM systems
  • Familiarity with metadata standards or taxonomy design
  • Familiarity with creative or visual assets archived
  • Interest in games or creative industries
  • Passionate about D&D Franchise and IP
Additional Details:
Please note that this is a temporary assignment providing services to Wizards through an external staffing agency. If you are selected for this assignment, you will be employed by Workwell as a W2 employee and will not be an employee of Wizards.
  • Employment Type: Contingent Worker
  • Location: Hybrid
  • Duration: 3 months with possibility to extend to 12 months
Compensation Range, Currency USD:
  • Starting Pay Range: $25/hour
  • Pay Range End: $32/hour
