Job Title: Business Analyst III (Senior Metadata Ingestion Analyst)

Location: Austin, Texas (Remote – Candidates must reside within Texas)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Contract Extension: Potential for up to 3 additional one-year renewals


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Metadata Ingestion Analyst to serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. This role focuses on metadata acquisition, analysis, enrichment, data governance, and AI-enabled data discovery initiatives within a large enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong business analysis skills, extensive experience with metadata management and data lineage, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights for non-technical audiences.


Key ResponsibilitiesMetadata Management & Analysis
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical metadata requirements.
  • Support metadata acquisition, enrichment, cataloging, and lineage initiatives.
  • Connect enterprise cataloging and data lineage systems with source systems.
  • Automate metadata collection and update processes for high-value data assets.
  • Validate metadata quality, consistency, and governance standards.
Business & Technical Liaison
  • Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear, business-friendly language.
  • Facilitate discussions with subject matter experts and leadership teams.
  • Provide guidance on metadata interpretation and business usage.
Data Reporting & Visualization
  • Extract, integrate, and analyze metadata from multiple complex data sources.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to develop reporting and visualization solutions.
  • Support data lineage analysis and business glossary development.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with governance, compliance, and organizational standards.
AI & Data Enablement
  • Develop and refine AI prompts for metadata discovery and data synthesis.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs and identify inaccuracies or hallucinations.
  • Create reusable prompt libraries and query templates.
  • Promote effective and responsible use of AI-driven data solutions.
Data Literacy & Training
  • Champion data literacy initiatives across the organization.

Collaboration & Governance
  • Partner with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to resolve metadata-related issues.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience gathering business requirements and translating complex metadata and operational requirements into actionable data solutions
  • 8+ years of experience explaining technical concepts and data limitations to non-technical stakeholders
  • 8+ years of experience in:
    • Business Analysis
    • Systems Analysis
    • Data Analysis
    • Data Liaison or related roles
  • 8+ years of advanced SQL experience for:
    • Data extraction
    • Data manipulation
    • Data enrichment
  • 8+ years of experience collaborating with business users, analysts, and IT teams on glossary development, analytics, and data lineage initiatives
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Business Intelligence or Data Warehouse experience
