Job description

Position: Associate Clinical Specialist
Location: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Salt Lake City, UT area, covering the Utah and Idaho territory
About META Dynamic, Inc.
META Dynamic, Inc. is a rapidly growing medical device services company specializing in surgical navigation support across the United States. With over 20 years of industry success, we partner with leading hospitals and surgeons to enhance precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes in complex procedures.
We are known for our clinical excellence, responsiveness, and ability to integrate seamlessly into surgical teams. Our continued growth creates strong opportunities for advancement, skill development, and long-term career progression.
Position Overview
The Surgical Navigation Clinical Specialist provides real-time, intraoperative support to surgeons using advanced image-guided navigation technology across neurosurgery, spine, and ENT procedures throughout the Utah and Idaho territory.
This role is critical to ensuring surgical accuracy, optimizing workflow efficiency, and supporting positive patient outcomes. The ideal candidate thrives in high-pressure environments, demonstrates strong clinical and technical judgment, and operates as a trusted partner within the operating room.
A Day in the Life
Preparation: The day typically begins early (often 6:00 a.m.) but can start later depending on the hospital's schedule. Prior to the surgery, the clinical specialist loads and reviews the MRI and/or CT scans and performs the preoperative planning for the procedure. Our specialists work closely with the surgical team, including nurses, anesthesiologists, and operating room technicians to prepare for the day's procedure(s).
Surgery: The primary focus of a clinical specialist's day is assisting with the navigation guidance during surgeries. This allows the surgeons to see in real-time where their instruments are in the patient's body by using an overlay on the 3D images of the patient's anatomy. Procedures may include brain tumor resections, epilepsy surgeries, deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantations, spinal fusions, or sinus procedures.
End of Day: After the surgical procedure, our specialists ensure the equipment is cleaned and put away. This includes the instruments and the trays associated with the instruments. Depending on the day's surgical schedule, our experts may also provide assistance in other navigated surgeries within the current facility or at different locations. This role demands adaptability due to its ever-changing schedule.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide intraoperative navigation support during complex surgical procedures
• Ensuring accuracy and efficiency of image-guided systems
• Perform preoperative case preparation, including loading and validating MRI and CT imaging and supporting surgical planning
• Serve as a clinical and technical expert to surgeons and OR staff, offering real-time problem-solving and guidance during procedures
• Coordinate with Radiology to ensure accurate imaging protocols and scan quality
• Train and educate physicians and hospital personnel on navigation system utilization and best practices
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building strong relationships and driving utilization growth
• Communicate case outcomes, system performance, and customer feedback to internal leadership
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and compliant with hospital and regulatory standards
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness for case coverage, including early mornings, extended hours, and schedule variability
• Support coverage across multiple facilities as needed
Success Metrics (What "Great" Looks Like)

• Experience in surgical environments, medical devices, or clinical support preferred
• Strong technical aptitude with medical imaging and navigation systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills under pressure
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within surgical teams
• High attention to detail and strong decision-making capability
Work Environment & Requirements
• Regular presence in operating room environments
• Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures
• Early morning start times with schedule variability
• On-call and flexible availability based on surgical schedules
• Minimum 25% travel required, including coverage between facilities within the Utah/Idaho territory and occasionally outside the region depending on business needs
Compensation & Benefits
