THIS IS A PART-TIME GRANT-FUNDED POSITION FUNDED UNTIL DECEMBER 15, 2027 (20 HOURS PER WEEK)
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Researcher 1 plays a key role in managing and coordinating big data studies as well as systematic review/meta-analysis projects. This position involves overseeing data management, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of datasets, performing literature reviews, and maintaining high-quality standards across all research activities.
Responsibilities
  1. Oversee database management, including the organization, maintenance, & security of large datasets.
  2. Coordinates data collection from various sources such as study reports for uploading into Covidence, flight data information, medical records, and other relevant databases.
  3. Develops a comprehensive code book to document coding schemes, variable definitions, and data handling procedures; updates the code book to reflect changes in study protocols or dataset structures.
  4. Monitors subject data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency across all datasets.
  5. Implement quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) protocols to ensure the integrity of research data.
  6. Performs literature searches using academic databases to identify relevant studies for systematic reviews.
  7. Organizes and coordinates meetings for the research project team, including preparing agendas, maintaining records of proceedings, and disseminating information to investigators and staff.
  8. Produces detailed reports summarizing findings from big data analyses
  9. Maintains electronic and hard-copy participant files in compliance with institutional policies and ethical guidelines.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree.(Master's Degree preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in research coordination, data management, or a similar field; OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of experience in research coordination, data management, or a similar field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in database management tools (e.g., REDCap, Excel) and statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS).
  • Familiarity with systematic review platforms such as Covidence is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of systematic review methodologies and meta-analysis techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.
