Job description

Avanciers are seeking a highly experienced Sr Front-End Architect with 14+ years of software engineering experience and deep expertise in modern front-end development. The role will be approximately 60% Front-End (React + TypeScript) and 40% Backend (Java + Spring).

The ideal candidate will lead front-end architecture, develop high-performance web applications, design microservices/API contracts, establish engineering standards, and mentor development teams. Strong experience with enterprise UI frameworks, design systems, accessibility, performance optimization, testing, security, and AI-assisted development is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the architecture and development of complex, user-facing web applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Define front-end architecture, component patterns, state management, routing, coding standards, and testing strategies.
  • Develop and integrate Java/Spring Boot microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs with front-end-friendly contracts.
  • Design API capabilities including pagination, filtering, error handling, caching, and efficient data retrieval.
  • Partner with UX and Product teams to translate designs and requirements into scalable, accessible, and high-performance applications.
  • Build and maintain enterprise design systems, component libraries, theming, responsive layouts, and cross-browser experiences.
  • Drive application performance through bundle optimization, rendering strategies, caching, profiling, and Core Web Vitals improvements.
  • Develop advanced UI capabilities including data visualization, real-time updates, complex forms, workflows, and offline-friendly experiences.
  • Establish secure client-side development practices covering authentication, token handling, secure storage, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
  • Lead code reviews, technical discussions, architecture decisions, and mentoring of engineers.
  • Drive automated testing using unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Implement front-end observability, logging, metrics, error reporting, and production troubleshooting practices.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot for development, refactoring, testing, debugging, and productivity while validating code quality and security.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

 

  • 14+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant expertise in front-end development and technical leadership.
  • Expert-level React.js experience, including Hooks, component composition, Context, rendering behavior, and modern React patterns.
  • Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript expertise, including generics, advanced typing, and strict type strategies.
  • Strong Java and Spring/Spring Boot experience for developing microservices and API solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with REST and GraphQL APIs and schema-driven development.
  • Strong knowledge of Vite, Webpack, Babel/SWC, npm/pnpm/yarn, and modern front-end build/release pipelines.
  • Experience with monorepos and large-scale front-end application architecture is a plus.
  • Strong HTML/CSS skills, including responsive design, CSS architecture, theming, and scalable styling approaches.
  • Advanced experience with Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and/or Cypress.
  • Strong understanding of WCAG, ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and accessibility testing.
  • Expertise in front-end performance optimization, including code splitting, SSR/CSR trade-offs, caching, profiling, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Strong API integration knowledge covering pagination, filtering, caching, error handling, and client-side state management.
  • Understanding of web application security, including XSS/CSRF prevention, dependency security, authentication, and session management.
  • Experience with client-side observability, logging, metrics, error monitoring, and production debugging.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools, particularly Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience with Next.js, Remix, or other SSR/meta frameworks.
  • Knowledge of SEO considerations for modern web applications.
  • Experience with enterprise design systems, Storybook, and design tokens.
  • Experience with micro-frontends and Module Federation.
  • Experience with D3, Canvas/WebGL, advanced data grids/tables, and animation libraries.
  • Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC, enterprise SSO, and authentication integrations.
  • Experience modernizing legacy front-end applications and improving developer experience.
  • Strong technical leadership, communication, mentoring, and architecture skills.
