Job Summary
The Social and Campaigns Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and evaluating strategic social media initiatives and integrated marketing campaigns that enhance Albany State University's brand visibility, engagement, and recruitment efforts. This role leads the planning and coordination of multi-channel campaigns, manages the university's social media presence, and collaborates with campus stakeholders to deliver compelling, audience-focused messaging that supports institutional priorities
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with university goals, including recruitment, retention, and brand awareness.
  • Plan, execute, and manage integrated marketing campaigns across digital platforms, including social media, web, email, and paid advertising.
  • Create and curate engaging content (copy, graphics, video, and multimedia) tailored to various audiences and platforms.
  • Manage and maintain official university social media accounts, including content scheduling, posting, monitoring, and responding to engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends, audience insights, and campaign performance metrics; analyze data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Coordinate campaign calendars and ensure alignment with institutional events, academic cycles, and key initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (academic departments, enrollment management, athletics, student affairs, etc.) to support campaign objectives.
  • Ensure brand consistency, messaging alignment, and adherence to Albany State University guidelines across all campaigns.
  • Manage paid social media campaigns and digital advertising efforts, including budgeting and performance tracking.
  • Assist with crisis communication and reputation management on social media platforms as needed.
  • Provide guidance and best practices to campus partners managing departmental social media accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Office of Marketing and Communications.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Journalism, or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in social media management, marketing campaign development, or integrated communications.
  • Strong strategic thinking and campaign planning skills.
  • Excellent written, editing, and storytelling abilities tailored for digital audiences.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative and engaging campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and optimize performance.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across campus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to brand integrity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education, public relations, or a large organizational environment.
