Fueling Your Passion
The Key Account Manager (KAM) for Data Centers is responsible for driving strategic customer engagement, business growth, and long-term partnerships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, data center developers, EPC contractors, and key industry stakeholders. The role focuses on delivering power generation solutions that support the rapidly growing data center industry, including grid-connected, backup, bridge power, and onsite generation solutions.
The successful candidate will develop and execute account strategies, identify new business opportunities, manage complex sales cycles, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver customer value. The KAM serves as a trusted advisor to customers, leveraging industry knowledge and technical expertise to position the company's power generation portfolio as a preferred solution for mission-critical data center applications.
As a Key Account Manager - Power Generation for Data Centers, you will be responsible for:
Strategic Account Management
  • Developing and executing account plans for assigned data center customers, including hyperscalers, colocation providers, developers, and EPC partners.
  • Establishing and maintaining executive-level relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Understanding customer growth plans, technology roadmaps, and power infrastructure requirements.
  • Driving customer retention and expand market share within assigned accounts.

Business Development
  • Identifying, qualifying, and securing new opportunities for power generation equipment, services, and long-term agreements.
  • Generating demand for gas turbine, backup generation, microgrid and distributed energy solutions.
  • Influencing project specifications and technology selection early in the project development cycle.
  • Developing strategies to penetrate new customers, regions, and segments within the data center industry.

Sales Leadership
  • Leading complex deal pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award.
  • Building and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve revenue and margin objectives.
  • Coordinating proposal development, commercial negotiations, risk assessments, and contract reviews.
  • Negotiating pricing, commercial terms, and long-term service agreements.

Market Intelligence
  • Monitoring trends affecting data center growth, power demand, AI infrastructure expansion, grid constraints, sustainability requirements, and emerging generation technologies.
  • Tracking customer capital investment plans and competitive activity.
  • Providing market insights to support product strategy and business planning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Working closely with engineering, application, service, commercial operations, legal, and finance teams to develop customer solutions.
  • Coordinating resources across global and regional teams to support customer pursuits.
  • Supporting project handover and ensure smooth transition from sales to execution.

Customer Value Creation
  • Developing business cases demonstrating reliability, efficiency, speed to power, and total cost of ownership benefits.
  • Promoting decarbonization and energy transition solutions, including lower-carbon fuels, combined heat and power, and hybrid power systems where applicable.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and issue resolution.

To be successful in this role you will:
Education
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • Have MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification preferred.

Experience
  • Have 7+ years of sales, business development, account management, or commercial experience within the power generation, energy, utility, or mission-critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Have proven experience managing strategic accounts and complex sales opportunities.
  • Have experience working with hyperscale data center customers such as Microsoft, Google, AWS, Meta, Oracle, or major colocation providers.]
  • Have understanding of AI-driven data center growth and associated power infrastructure challenges.

Technical Knowledge
  • Have understanding of power generation technologies, including gas turbines, reciprocating engines, microgrids, backup power systems, and grid interconnection.
  • Have familiarity with data center power architectures and redundancy requirements.
  • Have knowledge of energy markets, utility interfaces, power purchase structures, and distributed generation solutions.
  • Have ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and executive audiences.
