Job description

Position Summary:

The Digital Messaging Coordinator helps bring Pioneers’ mission to life through engaging email and SMS campaigns that invite people into meaningful global impact. Working alongside the Digital Marketing, Creative, and stakeholder teams, this role builds campaigns, automated user journeys, segments, and on-brand templates—with equal care for details, creative problem-solving, and the occasional “why is this automation doing that?” moments. You’ll use analytics, A/B tests and CRM tools to grow engagement, improve subscriber experience and turn good ideas into even better results. It’s a great fit for an organized, curious marketer who enjoys collaboration, tidy documentation, good coffee and celebrating wins along the way.

Qualifications:

  • Committed to global missions and overall vision of Pioneers.
  • Practices and supports the relevant elements of the US Mobilization Base Manual.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Conversant in Microsoft Office suite and similar software platforms.
  • Skilled in email and SMS marketing (e.g., Mailchimp) and analytics reporting.
  • Experience with CRMs (e.g., HubSpot), marketing automation and content management systems.
  • HTML/CSS knowledge and experience are a plus.
  • Web chat experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, able to collaborate with stakeholder teams, flexible in learning new systems and software.
  • Self-motivated and willing to experiment and create new systems and workflows in collaboration with colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Director of Digital Marketing to coordinate all mass, transactional and drip messaging on behalf of the Marketing Team and other stakeholder teams.
  • Work with the Director of Digital Marketing to define objectives, set goals and ensure compliance of user teams for Pioneers digital messaging products.
  • Work with the Creative team and Director of Digital Marketing to design email and messaging templates, ensuring visual brand consistency across multiple messaging products.
  • Create and schedule automated and broadcast campaigns, oversee A/B testing, manage distribution lists and work with stakeholder teams to create and manage segmentations within the CRM.
  • Build automation pathways for marketing CRM functionality and maintain documentation of systems.
  • Work with the Director of Digital Marketing to create forms and other lead generation tools and integrate them with automated email and SMS campaigns to drive subscriptions.
  • Track messaging performance and compile analytics reports for stakeholders, making optimization recommendations and testing with the goal of increasing engagement and reach.
  • Research, learn and grow in knowledge of best practices in digital messaging for marketing.
  • Steward Pioneers’ email reputation by monitoring deliverability, list hygiene, and permissions, and ensuring CAN-SPAM and GDPR compliance, as appropriate.

Physical Demands:

  • Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions. Remote work is performed at home Mondays and Fridays.
  • Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
  • Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Sitting at a desk working on a computer for many hours.
