The Opportunity

We are seeking an expert MES Engineer to serve as a Proficy Technical Leader. In this critical role, you will partner with 35 plants across North America & Latin America, running on distributed IT infrastructure. Your work with include new plant start up, set up and configuring, working as the SME to resolve critical situations against the clock to get the lines running again, building resiliency to ensure reduced down time, and continuously working to modernize and transform infrastructure. Every day has the potential to be different as each plant has its own unique fingerprint and needs from the Proficy platform. We are looking for a leader who is excited by diverse challenges, to impact positive change for our manufacturing facilities globally!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development and execute delivery of production execution solutions to P&G Manufacturing sites.

  • Use expert skills in GE Proficy Suite and production execution process knowledge to drive best practice in configuration of these solutions.

  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.

  • Be the expert and grow capability in others.

  • Solve technical problems of advanced scope and complexity.

  • Collaborate with the team on larger projects.

  • Continuously look for opportunities to create more efficient DevOps processes leveraging automation, new tools, and exploring new development platforms together with DevOps Engineers.

  • Work hand-in-hand with Operations Engineers and product teams to improve flow between Development and Operations to deliver value faster.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years experience in Manufacturing Services Platforms based on Proficy and associated Application Components.

    • To include: Proficy Plant Applications, Proficy Historian, Proficy iFix

  • 5+ years experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

  • 5+ years defining technical platform requirements and defining solutions.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in configuring Proficy Plant Applications and Proficy Historian solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience leading projects to deploy and upgrade Proficy Platforms.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with technical, administrative, and support resources to resolve incidents and provide solutions to GE for Proficy issues\defects.

  • Proficiency in both Windows and Linux based operating systems.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.

  • Expert in application Integration for Proficy, SAP and warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Fluent in English.

  • Ability to work 3 day hybrid schedule in Toronto, CA office & travel to productions sites as needed (typically once per quarter at most).

Preferred:

  • Subject matter expert in production execution for FMCG (process knowledge 3+ years experience)

  • Agile and DevOps practices and scrum master skills
