Job description

Senior MERN Developer
Strongsville, Ohio – Hybrid remote
$110,000 to $135,000 salary + bonus
Role
• Design, build, and support scalable applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js (TypeScript), APIs, and GCP
• Develop web apps, microservices, integrations, and cloud-native solutions deployed via Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Kubernetes
• Lead solution design, architecture decisions, and technical projects from design through deployment
• Coordinate across developers, product, and stakeholders; facilitate architecture reviews and planning
• Mentor developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing; promote engineering best practices
• Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, and Architecture teams
• Troubleshoot production issues using observability tools (Sentry, OpenTelemetry, structured logging)
Required
• 7+ years of software development experience, with proven leadership on technical projects
• Strong, current expertise with TypeScript, MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js
• Hands-on experience with dependency injection (InversifyJS or similar), Redis-backed job queues (BullMQ or similar), Cloud Tasks/Pub/Sub, Auth0/OIDC/JWT auth, and Zod
• Modern React tooling — Redux Toolkit, React Hook Form/Formik, MUI or similar
• Experience with GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager), Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience building scalable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
Preferred
• Experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Project Lead
• Experience with payments/card processing, PCI-DSS, or field-level encryption
• Experience with ERP, financial systems, or expense management/AP/procurement applications
• Feature flag release management experience
• Experience integrating LLMs/generative AI into production apps
• Familiarity with Azure/.NET/C# equivalents
