Job description

The Mermaid Inn on the UWS is looking for an experienced floor manager to join its operations team.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys being actively present in the dining room, supporting staff, engaging with guests, and maintaining smooth day-to-day service. The position is focused heavily on hospitality leadership, team communication, and operational oversight rather than purely administrative work. Responsibilities include helping manage service standards, coordinating portions of the front-of-house schedule, monitoring guest experience, and ensuring efficient daily operations.

The ideal candidate is positive, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments. A strong awareness of dining room activity, service flow, and team performance is essential. The restaurant values polished yet approachable hospitality and is committed to creating an exceptional guest experience through professionalism, consistency, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with ownership and management teams
  • Maintain strong communication with front- and back-of-house staff
