Job description

Responsibilities

As an Associate, you will work on a wide range of transactions including restructurings, recapitalizations, acquisitions, divestitures, private placements, leveraged buyouts, and joint ventures. Associates are expected to be involved in the development, structuring and financing of transactions and regularly attend internal and client meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.

Associate work will include, but is not limited to:

  • Develop various analyses, including: distress trigger analyses, operating models, recovery waterfalls, transaction capital structure models, valuations (DCF, M&A comps, and trading comps), and other situation specific analyses;
  • Prepare and discuss comprehensive marketing materials (including case studies, CIMs, pitch book presentations, and teasers);
  • Prepare memoranda for internal and external use;
  • Evaluate terms of credit agreements and indentures to determine restructuring alternatives and covenant compliance;
  • Organize meetings with relevant stakeholders, including legal, financial, and operational advisors;
  • Prepare financial and strategic buyers lists for various investment opportunities;
  • Attend diligence sessions and assist with in-person site visits; and assist with coordination and sharing of due diligence amongst various parties;
  • Maintain active involvement and participation in client facing situations and negotiations;
  • Actively participate in intern training and recruiting efforts; provide mentorship and development to junior staff.
Qualifications

Qualified applicants will prove to be highly motivated and team-oriented with excellent leadership records. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong background in financial modeling, finance, and accounting as well as possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding project management skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Extensive knowledge of and background in investment banking, preferably with a restructuring focus

Expected annualized base salary range: $200,000 - $250,000.

The annual base salary range reflects the low and high targets of the estimated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary an employee in this role receives may vary depending on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: work location, job-related knowledge, and prior experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components.
