Job description

Find your calling at Mercy!Under the general supervision of the Physical Therapy Supervisor, assists therapists with performing patient care duties for patients of all ages.
- Assists with the registration and scheduling process of patients.
- Perform patient care duties with patients of all ages within departmental policies and procedures while under the direction of staff therapists.
- Responsible for transferring patients to and from the Rehab Therapy Gym.
- Required to possess excellent human relation skills (lilstening and speaking) especially while working with patients.
- Must be able to work well with others and be flexible with regard to performing a variety of duties.
- Must also demonstrate initiative and responsibility for daily tasks.
- Direct contacts include patients, therapists, and nurses.
- Primary tasks include entering charges along with the preparation of treatment areas and assistance with treatment procedures as directed by the therapists.
- Other duties include cleaning/preparing treatment areas, assisting when necessary with appointment scheduling and filing, occasionally performing receptionist duties, and transportation and transfer activities for patients to and from the department.
- No Supervisory responsibilities.
- Will perform all work with accord to the mission, vision, and values of Mercy.
- Provide Safe transportation of the patient to and from the department as directed by therapists and according to departmental policies and procedures for safety.
- Assist therapists by performing treatment procedures/modalities according to departmental policies and procedures regarding standards of care and safety.
- Demonstrate knowledge of special needs and behavior of specific age groups.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area as standardized in departmental policies and procedures
- Greet all patients and visitors in a courteous manner. Notify appropriate therapist immediately of their arrival.Position Details:

Experience: One year experience or education in therapies preferred
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
