Job description

This Position Is 100% Onsite Monday-Friday 7am To 3:30pm With No Call, No Weekends, And No Holidays!

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by performing a wide range of services and skills, while focusing on customer service. These tasks include but are not limited to; medical scheduling, medical orders, Advance Beneficiary Notification (ABN), image transfer, HIPAA, consent to release guidelines, maintaining a high level of written and oral communications, including use of the MARTII for non English-speaking patients.

Job Duties

  • Works as the central point of contact connecting radiologists, patients, providers, and technologist to facilitate the best possible care.
  • Uses various technologies to share images with other healthcare organizations.
  • Assists providers with the radiology ordering process.
  • Coordinates communication between central scheduling and imaging areas, prioritizing time sensitive and urgent level data.
  • Adheres to consent to release guidelines for imaging records, and HIPPA guidelines by obtaining accurate authorization to release information.
  • Works collaboratively with the Mercy/St. Luke's School of Radiology.
  • Processes Radiology release of information (ROI) requests and documents in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Processes digital orders and enters orders in the HER.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Accuracy in oral and written communications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with constant interruption.
  • Strong public relation skills with evidence of good judgment.
  • Must have ability to work well on diverse team of peers.

Professional Experience

  • One year experience in medical field or secretarial position preferred.
  • Experience in medical terminology and anatomy preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical or diagnostic procedures preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications preferred.

Education

  • Associates Degree or equivalent medical experience required.

Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • Required: Basic Cardiac Life Support certification in accordance with American Heart Association.
