Job description

We’re looking for a resourceful, highly organized Marketing Specialist who can help us tell that story and turn marketing into a consistent driver of awareness, leads and growth.

The Role

This is not simply a social media position.

We’re looking for someone who will take ownership of Mercury’s day-to-day marketing efforts across social media, email, web, digital advertising, content and sales support.

You’ll coordinate with our internal team and outside marketing specialists to ensure projects are being documented, content is consistently published, campaigns are moving forward and marketing opportunities don’t fall through the cracks.

You do not need to be an expert in every area of marketing. You do need to be organized, proactive, curious and comfortable taking ownership.

What You’ll Do

  1. Own and maintain Mercury’s marketing and content calendar
  2. Manage day-to-day social media across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms
  3. Ensure Stories and timely project content are posted consistently
  4. Work with our internal video/reel creator to identify, plan and publish compelling video content
  5. Gather photos, video and project information from our live event and AV integration teams
  6. Turn projects into social content, website case studies, newsletters and sales collateral
  7. Write and distribute regular email newsletters and marketing campaigns
  8. Maintain and update website content and project pages
  9. Help manage Mercury’s Google Business Profile, customer reviews and online presence
  10. Coordinate with outside partners managing Google Ads, SEO, web development and AI-search optimization
  11. Use AI tools to improve efficiency, research, writing, content creation and marketing analysis
  12. Support the sales team with case studies, presentations, project sheets and other marketing materials
  13. Identify opportunities to promote Mercury’s people, projects, clients and capabilities
  14. Track marketing performance and provide simple monthly reporting on results
  15. Help connect marketing activities to qualified leads, opportunities and revenue

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years of marketing, digital marketing, communications or related experience
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience managing business social media accounts
  • Comfortable with tools such as Canva, email marketing platforms, social scheduling tools and website CMS platforms
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT as part of a modern marketing workflow
  • Basic understanding of digital advertising, SEO and analytics
  • Ability to manage outside vendors and keep projects moving
  • Self-starter who doesn’t need to be constantly reminded about deadlines
  • Ability to recognize a good story or marketing opportunity and act on it
  • Comfortable working with multiple departments and personalities

Experience in AV, events, technology, construction or B2B services is helpful but not required.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first several months, Mercury’s marketing should become more consistent, organized and measurable.

Our social channels are active. Projects are being documented. Stories are being posted. Newsletters are going out. Case studies are being created. Outside marketing partners are being managed. Our sales team has better marketing support. And we’re gaining a clearer understanding of which marketing efforts are creating real business opportunities.

Most importantly, marketing has an owner.

Benefits available to full-time employees.

Why Mercury?

You’ll have the opportunity to market an established 25-year company with an incredible portfolio of projects, customers, technology and experiences while helping build the next generation of Mercury’s marketing strategy.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more ownership than a traditional marketing coordinator role and wants to grow as the company’s marketing efforts expand.

Company Description

We are looking for a new team member that believes in our vision and core values of compassion, integrity, professionalism, passion, reliability, and confidence. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
