JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing the Merchant Services program by focusing on new growth opportunities, retaining current customers, and advocating for the interests of Pinnacle Bancorp.  Enables and supports market personnel to drive quality referrals; proactively engages with Clover salesforce; utilizes project management skills to effectively plan, organize, and execute work that supports merchant income; and participates in partnership calls and meetings as an advocate for assigned bank charters. 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Pinnacle/BOC bankers to effectively identify and develop Merchant Services opportunities to generate new referrals, activate new merchants, and retain merchant customers to grow our portfolio and consistently achieve sales goals throughout the organization.
  • Act as direct liaison between Merchant Services Provider and their sales teams to drive, develop, and retain new merchant processing relationships.
  • Collaborate with bank Treasury Managers to design and implement customer sales plans that will lead to effective cross-sale opportunities.
  • Maintain and apply a thorough understanding of Merchant Services and current policies to ensure the submission of accurate merchant referrals.
  • Develop and provide accurate monthly reporting to executives and bank managers, highlighting both successes and areas of opportunities.
  • Utilize project management skills to effectively plan, organize, and execute projects related to Merchant Services.
  • Travels between branches to meet cash managers, business consultants and customers. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Regularly exercising independent judgement and discretion over matters of significance. 
  • Communicate effectively in-person and otherwise with all coworkers and customers, both during regular business hours and before and after regular business hours, if necessary. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration are essential for this role. While remote work may be available periodically, there are times when being in the office is necessary to maintain our collaborative efforts. Therefore, this position cannot be primarily performed remotely. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of merchant services products, sales, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of program management practices and principles.
  • Skill in leveraging data to inform plans and monitor business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Fiserv system, Word, Excel, and merchant services software. 
  • Skill in communicating and coordinating activities with management, customers, coworkers, and vendors. Communication must be timely and strong.
  • Ability to develop marketing and/or training materials that enable bank teams to effectively communicate, sell, and support Merchant clients of any size. 
  • Ability to research and develop new products and techniques.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. 
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience, college degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of bank and merchant sales experience with sales preferred.
