A merchandising intern is someone learning how to develop, edit, and produce the products for sale in stores. This job is usually an unpaid or entry-level position that prepares you for a career as a merchandiser or another position in the fashion or retail industry. Duties may include performing administrative tasks in addition to observing a professional merchandiser. Qualifications to become a merchandising intern vary by internship, but many employers require you to be a student at a college or university to apply.

To thrive as a Merchandising Intern, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and foundational knowledge of retail or fashion, often supported by coursework in business or merchandising. Job description

CW Financial Services LLC ("CW") is a premier and unique, full-service real-estate firm providing solutions to institutional clients in the areas of Commercial Real Estate Finance. CW is recognized industry wide for providing the most sophisticated capital markets structuring techniques. RealINSIGHT is CW's technology firm and a leading provider of commercial real estate finance asset management software. Through automation, data intelligence, and a borrower-first philosophy, we partner with investors and clients to deliver seamless, compliant, and scalable servicing solutions. We move fast, think boldly, and put innovation at the center of everything we do. We are seeking a Marketing intern with a genuine interest in B2B marketing to join our New York City team this fall.
As the Marketing Intern, you will report to the VP of Marketing at RealINSIGHT and focus heavily on event marketing, supporting major industry conferences across CW's business lines (RealINSIGHT, CW Asset Management, and RI Marketplace), not just RealINSIGHT alone. This role is a strong fit for someone who wants to understand how B2B marketing operates inside an institutional finance company: how events get built, how relationships get managed at scale, and how a brand shows up credibly in front of a sophisticated audience. If you want a career in B2B marketing and real, hands-on experience with the event side of that discipline, this role is for you.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Support event logistics and execution for major CRE industry conferences (CREFC, MBA CRE, PERE, and others) across CW's business lines: registration coordination, hotel and room block management, RSVP tracking, and guest list management
  • Support sponsorship logistics and deliverables, ensuring commitments tied to sponsorship packages are tracked and fulfilled
  • Support coordination of meeting spaces at conferences, including scheduling, signage, and on-site setup
  • Support branded apparel, swag, and merchandise ordering, including sourcing, coordination, and shipping logistics
  • Support catering and floral logistics for meeting spaces and client events
  • Support vendor and venue research for client dinners and events
  • Support meeting scheduling logistics and attendee coordination during live conferences
  • Provide on-site support at events as needed
  • Assist in pulling post-event reporting and data
  • May be leaned on for content support across RealINSIGHT's digital marketing channels, as needed
  • Support ad hoc projects across the marketing function

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Sharp, quick to learn, and highly capable; a strong baseline of competence with the judgment to figure things out independently
  • Proactive and self-directed; works through ambiguity and takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what's next
  • Hard-working with a genuine drive to do things well, not just get them done
  • Comfortable receiving direct, candid feedback and applying it quickly
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple logistical workstreams at once
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's or other advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field is a nice bonus, though not required
  • B2B marketing experience, and a genuine interest in it, is a must. Hands-on exposure to B2B events, trade shows, conferences, or industry association work is a strong plus, and it doesn't need to be CRE or finance related. Experience supporting a trade show booth, industry conference, chamber of commerce event, or professional association event all count
  • Experience in commercial real estate, financial services, or SaaS isn't required, but it's a nice plus if you have it

*The requirements above reflect our ideal candidate profile, but studies show that many strong candidates don't apply simply because they don't meet every qualification listed. If you're excited about this opportunity and believe you have the skills and drive to succeed in it, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Primary Work Location Pay Rate: $30 an hour
CW Financial Services LLC, along with its subsidiaries and affiliates, is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants regardless of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, citizenship, disability, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other status protected by applicable law.
