The Merchandising Manager reports to and is supported by the Sr. Manager of Merchandising and Customer Execution. The Merchandising Manager is primarily responsible for the strategic execution of customer opportunities and fully understands the business objectives and provides compelling product assortments that meets and exceeds those objectives. This is achieved by pro-actively driving innovation and out-of-the-box merchandising solutions while leveraging data analytics and customer insights. The Merchandising Manager should be a passionate ambassador of our customers, cultivating a creative environment built of innovation, positivity amp; productivity.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES amp; DUTIES
The primary Responsibilities and Duties of this position are:
·Drive Innovation in merchandising amp; customer opportunities – responsible for “big picture” thinking beyond customer’s expectations to create growth and innovation
·Responsible for the complete understanding of customer accounts; able to communicate customer’s needs and expectations, educate other team members as well as push innovation in customer strategy
·Partner with Sales amp; Business Analysts, and Sourcing to create assortment plans based on in-depth analysis and thought-through pricing strategy·Partner with Marketing amp; Brand Managers to creative innovation in “story telling” (Marketing, signage, packaging, etc.)·Collaborate with the Brand Managers to create vision strategies and brand development that align to corporate and customer goals amp; opportunities·To foster a professional relationship with customers based on partnership, trust, skill amp; knowledge· Create and utilize tools to manage development timelines, create accuracy amp; neatness as well as visibility of information·Align with corporate mission and valuesSKILLS amp; QUALIFICATIONS·Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design or a related field·Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a merchandising role, within fashion jewelry or related field, with a focus on positive results and leadership·Ability to work as part of a team and collaborating with co-workers·Ability to give direction to design, merchandising teams to achieve necessary results·Knowledge of retail landscape and apply it to customer product and placement strategies·Knowledge of competitors strengths and weaknesses·Ability to identify holes in assortments and opportunities with accounts·Skill in arranging product amp; creating programs that stimulate interest and entices customers to make a purchase·Strong time management skills required, as well as, the ability to change focus based on customer demands·Ability to understand and interpret sales reports·Ability to work extra hours to meet deadlines when necessary·Must be proficient in Word, Excel·Domestic travel to customer presentations when necessary
