Position Purpose:
The Senior Merchandising Analyst serves as a key operational partner within the Purchasing organization, supporting process execution, training, project coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to Purchasing leadership, this role acts as a subject matter expert for purchasing and merchandising processes, helping ensure consistency, efficiency, and successful execution of business initiatives.
This position is responsible for developing and delivering training, maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), leading process improvement efforts, coordinating promotional inventory programs, and providing operational support to the team. The Senior Merchandising Analyst serves as a trusted resource for Sales, Inventory Management, Suppliers, and internal stakeholders while helping drive process adoption and business readiness. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, analytical, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Major Functional Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key operational resource for Purchasing leadership and provide departmental support and backup coverage as needed.
  • Lead onboarding and training efforts for new team members and develop training materials to support ongoing team development.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, process documentation, and training resources.
  • Facilitate training sessions for Sales and other business partners on purchasing processes, expectations, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance communication across departments.
  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate workflows, implement process improvements, and support business initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously while tracking progress, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Manage customer promotional inventory purchases by partnering with Sales, Inventory Management, and Suppliers to ensure product readiness and successful program execution.
  • Monitor promotional purchasing activities and provide timely updates regarding inventory status, risks, and readiness.
  • Utilize reporting and data analysis to identify trends, support decision-making, and recommend operational improvements.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data, documentation, and reporting used within the department.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external business partners while delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and adaptability while effectively managing changing priorities and business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Required Education:
• Bachelor's Degree - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
Work Experience:
• 3 - 5 Years - Experience in merchandising analytics, retail analytics, or a related role
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling); experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred
• Experience with SQL or other data querying tools is a plus
