Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Physician

Location: Baltimore, MD

Overview

The United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) conducts more than 250,000 medical evaluations annually, serving as the critical gateway for applicants entering both the Regular and Reserve components of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Trusted Medical, PLLC is seeking qualified Physicians to support the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) program. This role is essential to ensuring individuals entering military service meet established health and fitness standards. The MEPS Physician performs comprehensive in-person medical evaluations in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines and contributes to maintaining the readiness and strength of the U.S. military.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform face-to-face comprehensive medical examinations for military applicants in accordance with DoD and MEPS accession standards.
  • Review medical histories, laboratory and imaging results, and evaluate applicants' fitness for military service.
  • Render professional medical opinions regarding eligibility for military service.
  • Accurately document examination findings and complete required reports using the MHS GENESIS electronic health record system.
  • Identify and communicate medical conditions that may impact eligibility for military service.
  • Collaborate with MEPS staff and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient applicant processing.
  • Maintain compliance with all confidentiality requirements, ethical standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Comply with all applicable installation policies, procedures, and DoD regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of comprehensive physical examinations and medical documentation review.
  • Understanding of medical standards for military service accession.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, structured environment while managing multiple evaluations daily.
Work Location & Travel
  • Must report on-site to the designated MEPS location in Washington, DC.
  • Applicants must be free from travel restrictions and able to support evolving client requirements.
Compensation

Salary Range: Compensation is dependent upon experience, education, location, and employment type.

Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent degree from an accredited U.S., Canadian, or recognized foreign medical school.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted physician license in a U.S. state, territory, Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of a one-year internship or the first year of an accredited residency program.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of graduate training in the applicable specialty or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clinical privileges and credentialing requirements.
  • Current or ability to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Subject to background investigation, suitability/fitness determination, and personnel security requirements.
  • Successful completion of required Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS training within established timeframes.
  • May be required to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
  • Availability to work occasional early morning, evening, or Saturday shifts as required.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience supporting Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) or military medical evaluations.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense medical standards and accession protocols.
  • Experience using the MHS GENESIS electronic health record system.
