POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Account Executive/Event Designer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for driving new business, cultivating client relationships, and representing the brand with professionalism and sophistication. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the luxury market, strong networking skills, and a passion for fine dining and event experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales goals on a consistent basis.
  • Developing prospects by prospecting, being active in the community, and networking; Serves as the MEC Brand Ambassador in targeted community events or organizations in his/her region.
  • Maintains successful, repetitive client list by providing exceptional service and cultivating strong relationships.
  • Negotiates pricing, proposals and contracts with clients.
  • Manages sales processes including maintaining sales reports.
  • Develops market and competitor knowledge and be able to actively suggest new ways MEC can deliver to the same level.
  • Remains current on industry trends as it pertains to food and beverage innovation.
  • Creates exciting and enticing sales proposals.
  • Ensures fulfillment of special requests including dietary restrictions and allergies.
  • Ensure compliance with company booking policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all bookings follow accounting/billing standards for audit key controls and receivables.
  • Successful implementation of catering free sell policies, food/beverage minimums, service charge, fees, etc.
  • Assure all bookings are accounted for in contract binders and up to date.
  • Coordinate and gain approval for all menu tasting events for clients and communicate all details to appropriate operations team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, resolve problems and recommend solutions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete assigned tasks with little supervision; high sense of urgency.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to meet strict deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 year of sales experience, preferably in an off-premise catering setting.
TRAVEL: Significant but local, more than 50% traveling to off-site meetings.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Job often operates at off-site locations which may be outdoors and subject to all weather conditions including heat, rain, moisture, slippery surfaces, cold, uneven walking surfaces,
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate on experience and skill-set. Base salary + commission (combined amount will roughly equate to the salary listed on this posting). This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
