Position Title: PCB Layout Designer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract position for a highly skilled PCB Layout Designer to support our client's aerospace engineering team in Santa Ana, CA.
Job Description:
  • This is an on-site position requiring deep expertise in Mentor Graphics Xpedition and a strong background in aerospace-grade PCB design. The ideal candidate will bring precision and compliance awareness to support mission-critical projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop complex PCB layouts using Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools and Expedition flow.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to translate schematics into optimised PCB designs.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations and aerospace industry standards.
  • Perform design reviews, resolve layout challenges, and maintain documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
  • Support continuous improvement in design processes and workflows.

Job Qualifications:
  • 5-6 years of professional PCB layout experience, with a strong focus on aerospace applications.
  • Proven expertise in Mentor Graphics Xpedition and Expedition flow.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed design, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Familiarity with aerospace standards and certifications.
