Associate Mental Health Therapist
Location: Birmingham, AL
Work Setting: Fully Remote
Salary: $65,000-$75,000 per year
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Job Summary
We are seeking an Associate Mental Health Therapist to provide secure, evidence-informed telehealth services within a professionally supported clinical environment. This position is designed for an associate-level clinician completing supervised postgraduate practice who wants to strengthen their assessment, treatment-planning, documentation, and therapeutic skills.
The clinician will conduct virtual assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide psychotherapy within their approved supervised scope, monitor client progress, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Regular supervision and case consultation will be provided in accordance with applicable licensing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct virtual intake assessments and identify appropriate treatment needs.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
  • Provide individual, couples, or family therapy within your education, credential, and supervised scope.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches when clinically appropriate.
  • Complete progress notes, risk assessments, and other clinical records accurately and on time.
  • Participate in supervision, case consultation, and clinical development activities.
  • Follow all applicable ethical, privacy, reporting, and telehealth requirements.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in counseling, clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, psychology, or a related clinical field.
  • Current state-issued associate, provisional, temporary, intern, candidate, or other supervised-practice credential in counseling, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related mental health discipline.
  • Credential must authorize the applicant to provide clinical services under supervision to clients located in Alabama.
  • Ability to practice under approved clinical supervision.
  • Private professional workspace and reliable high-speed internet.
  • Availability to work a consistent Monday-Friday schedule.
