Harmony in Mind Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a specialization in geriatric care. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide critical mental health support to seniors in a remote outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling, particularly in working with elderly clients facing challenges related to aging, life transitions, and emotional health.

Our Geriatric Care Clinic specializes in addressing the unique emotional and psychological needs of older adults, facilitating their journey through significant life changes, loss, and other age-related issues. Our team consists of experienced professionals dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for our clients as well as our staff.

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in work-life balance while still engaging closely with clients and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While providing services remotely, you will utilize teletherapy platforms and other virtual communication tools to offer both individual and group counseling.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify specific emotional and psychological care needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to support clients navigating grief, loss, and the emotional upheaval that often accompanies aging.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals—including physicians, social workers, and occupational therapists—to develop tailored care plans that address the holistic needs of geriatric clients.
• Provide education and resources to family members and caregivers about mental health strategies that enhance wellbeing and foster better communication with elderly individuals.
• Implement interventions, including cognitive stimulation programs, to improve mental acuity and quality of life among clients.
• Lead grief and loss counseling sessions, supporting both residents and their families as they deal with end-of-life issues or significant transitions.

This role allows you to make a meaningful impact in their lives by addressing their mental health needs with empathy and cultural sensitivity, ensuring each client feels valued and understood.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation.
• At least 4 years of recent experience in mental health counseling, specifically within the geriatric population.
• Training or specialization in aging-related issues and mental health interventions for older adults.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in providing psychotherapy to elderly clients with diverse backgrounds and mental health challenges.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices that promote mental well-being in the elderly population.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with seniors, their families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
• An understanding of the ethical and legal implications of mental health counseling in geriatric healthcare.

The competitive annual salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $95,000, depending on experience and qualifications, alongside a sign-on bonus. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
