Assistant Coach, Men’s Basketball
Summary
Spring Arbor University is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. This position assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach in all aspects of the men’s basketball program, including player development, practice planning, recruiting, spiritual mentorship, and assisting with the reserve team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a passion for mentoring student-athletes, and a commitment to the mission and values of the Spring Arbor University and Men’s Basketball Program.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and conducting team practices, training sessions, and competitions
  • Support the development of student-athletes both athletically and spiritually
  • Help foster a positive team culture that reflects Christian character, sportsmanship, and leadership
  • Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes who align with the mission of the college
  • Participate in game preparation, scouting, film review, and travel coordination
  • Monitor academic progress and encourage student-athlete success in the classroom
  • Assist with camps, clinics and fundraising activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous coaching and/or collegiate playing experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to mentoring and discipling young men in a Christian environment
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed during the season
