Through its School of Professional and Continuing Studies, the University extends its primary undergraduate mission by offering high quality graduate studies in business, education and nursing and an array of undergraduate and certificate programs serving non-traditional students. 

Position Summary: 
The University of Mount Saint Vincent, a member of NCAA Division III and the Skyline Conference, invites applications for a Graduate Assistant for the Men's Basketball program. This position is designed to provide hands-on coaching and administrative experience while supporting all aspects of a competitive collegiate basketball program. 

Start Date - July 1, 2026

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Head Coach with daily operations of the Men's Basketball program  
  • Support practice planning, skill development, and game preparation 
  • Assist with recruiting efforts, including identification, communication, and campus visits  
  • Coordinate video breakdown and scouting reports  
  • Support game day management and team travel logistics  
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and promote academic success  
  • Perform additional administrative duties within the Athletics Department as assigned  

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required  
  • Acceptance into, or plans to apply to, a graduate program at the University of Mount Saint Vincent (Business or Education) 
  • Previous playing or coaching experience in basketball preferred  
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, support staff, campus community, and alumni  
  • Effective time management and organizational skills  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications  
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III guidelines preferred  
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends 
  • Valid Driver's License
