Job description

Do you enjoy pampering others, so they feel relaxed and rejuvenated? Would you love to work in an environment of serenity, within a sea of smiling faces? Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa (http://handandstone.ca/locations/aurora/) is a rapidly expanding spa that provides an affordable luxury experience throughout our many locations across the US and Canada. We create a revitalizing experience for each guest that begins the instant they walk in the door – and that’s where you come in. As our new Spa Associate, you’ll be the face of this Hand & Stone location by providing outstanding customer service and attentive care that creates the foundation for an exceptional spa experience. This is a terrific opportunity to grow your career in the spa industry, while gaining valuable experience and skills from one of the most successful spa groups in Canada. About the Role: You’ll be our front desk receptionist who takes great care of everyone who arrives. You’ll also help maintain and prepare the facilities and rooms for our guests, answer phone calls, respond to emails, stock rooms, and manage appointments. Strong administration and computer skills are crucial as you’ll be responsible for running a tight ship of appointments and scheduling with our staff. Sales will play a key part in your role here. You’ll be ringing up customers on their way out, talking up our packages, and selling them on the benefits of membership. Since our guests have such a wonderful experience, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make commission.  You’ll be a great fit for this role if you’re: Meticulous: you’re great with details, whether you’re scheduling or preparing rooms for our clients. Nothing gets past you. Independent: no one needs to be looking over your shoulder because you’ve always got an eye on the next task. You’re organized, and you use that skill in everything you do. Social: you love chatting with customers, getting to know them, and figuring out how our business can best suit their needs. A natural salesperson: you would enjoy encouraging people to pamper themselves. Energetic: your positivity and energy are contagious, setting a tone for clients and coworkers alike. People just love being around you.   Working @ Hand and Stone: There are part-time, permanent positions available, with variable hours 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday, including evenings, and hours will increase in the Fall. Starting wage here is $14 per hour, plus commissions based on membership sales. We also offer group benefits (for full time employees), employee discounts, and employee incentives. This is not a summer job or a seasonal position. We’ve got a small team you’ll be working with, so you’ll be joining a fun, friendly, and familiar group of people. Desired Qualifications: These are our “must-haves”: * Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a salon or spa  * Minimum education is high school or equivalent * Experience in using a POS credit card system Anything on this list would be considered an asset: * Experience working reception * Experience in sales * Experience managing schedules, and familiarity working with scheduling software How to Apply: Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume. The application will assess your qualifications, personality traits and workplace preferences, and should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. After submitting, you'll receive an email inviting you to log in and view your assessment results. We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply. If we can make this easier through accommodation in the recruitment process, please contact us with the “Help” button in the application. We will review applications, with priority given to those who have completed the full assessment, and look forward to hearing from you.
