Teller (Member Service Representative)
Location: Melbourne Branch
Reports To: Branch Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Role: (Onsite at Melbourne Branch - FL)
To build relationships with members by assisting them with their financial transactions and listening for other financial needs. Performs account maintenance and assists with products and services.
Essential Functions amp; Responsibilities:
55% - Welcomes the member by making eye contact and a smile. Uses the member's name during the interaction and thanks the member for their business. Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; money orders and cashiers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed with complete accuracy. Gives routine account information. Performs maintenance on member accounts. Assists members with products and services.
35% - Interacts with the member to determine if the member would benefit from other Credit Union products and services to cross-sell with Integrity. Increases and supports utilization of self service channels.
5% - Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
5% - Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. To meet established expectations of ELGA's Core Factors including but not limited to Accountability, Attitude, Communication, Competence, Continuous Improvement amp; Innovation and Relationship Building.
2. To provide informed, friendly, professional, personal service to all members and associates by making eye contact and using the member's name, smiling while listening, responding as though they are the only one in your world at that time, and finding the correct answer if you don't know it.
3. To handle all transactions in a timely and accurate manner, staying completely focused on the member's request allowing you to look for opportunity to cross sell a product that the member could benefit from.
4. To have complete accuracy with all transactions to allow you to balance 100% of the time. To analyze errors in written format on the rare occasion a mistake is made.
5. To achieve 100% of your daily/weekly/monthly and annual sales goals. Monthly goals would include 8-11 electronic services, 1-3 new loan products, 4-6 new/upgraded shares and 60% of new checking accounts opt-in (Reg E).
6. To complete and pass Certification 2 process.
7. To support other associates and to take the initiative to offer help when needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills: Able to operate a 10 key calculator, typewriter and computer keyboard.
