Senior Account Manager, Meijer

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Preferred) or Chicago Metro Area

Post Consumer Brands is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Account Manager to lead our business with Meijer while supporting a portfolio of select regional accounts. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing and executing customer strategies that drive profitable growth, increase category share, and strengthen customer partnerships.

As the primary account leader for Meijer, you will own all aspects of strategic planning, customer engagement, forecasting, trade management, and business execution. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results while serving as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and customer decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities Customer Leadership
  • Serve as the primary account leader for Meijer and manage select broker-supported regional customers.
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Lead broker partners to ensure alignment with Post Consumer Brands\' sales objectives and growth strategies.
  • Align customer and brand strategies to drive category growth, sales performance, and profitability.
  • Lead customer negotiations including:
    • Joint Business Planning
    • Annual and Fiscal Planning
    • Line Reviews
    • New Item Presentations
    • Promotional Programs
    • Strategic Growth Initiatives
  • Deliver compelling, fact-based recommendations that create mutually beneficial outcomes for customers and the business.
  • Oversee day-to-day account execution, including item setup, promotional planning, inventory management, customer reporting, online content, and operational processes.
Business Management & Growth
  • Own customer business plans and deliver profitable sales growth through effective management of:
    • Pricing
    • Promotions
    • Products
    • Product Placement
  • Achieve annual sales objectives related to:
    • Gross Less Trade (GLT)
    • EBITDA
    • Dollar Share Growth
    • Market Share
    • Revenue and Profit Targets
  • Identify and execute growth opportunities across assortment, merchandising, and distribution.
  • Manage forecasting, promotional planning, accruals, deductions, and trade spending to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
  • Partner with Finance and Sales Planning to effectively manage trade investments and maximize return on investment.
Data Analysis & Strategic Insights
  • Analyze sales, profitability, promotional effectiveness, and category performance to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Utilize syndicated and customer-specific data to develop strategic recommendations and business plans.
  • Conduct pre- and post-promotion analyses to evaluate performance and inform future decisions.
  • Leverage insights to influence customer decisions and support category growth initiatives.
  • Develop and present business reviews, recommendations, and growth strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Customer Strategy & Execution, Finance, Customer Operations, Supply Chain, Performance Media, Digital Content, and Marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain partners to address customer service and inventory needs.
  • Lead communication across functions to ensure alignment and successful execution of customer initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the business.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree required.
Experience
  • 7 to 10 years of Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) sales and account management experience required.
  • Experience managing strategic retail customers and delivering profitable business growth.
  • Previous experience calling on national account headquarters required.
  • Experience managing broker relationships preferred.
  • Pet industry experience is a plus but not required.

  • Knowledge of retailer-specific customer data platforms preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with a focus on accountability and execution.

Candidates must reside within the geographic retail footprint of the direct customer.
