  • Plan, coordinate and schedule work crews and equipment to each job including travel, load time and non-job-related projects and tasks.
  • Assign and dispatch of work crews every morning to job sites and yard projects based on customer and MEI requirements ensuring employees are assigned to job/projects in accordance with their skill set.
  • Utilize computer and organization skills to dispatch/assign equipment (MEI and rentals) and tools to crew per job requirements including scheduling of equipment repairs.
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute all required paperwork to appropriate groups (crew, accounting, operations management) related to the job, change orders, assignment of crew and equipment, safety, JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and works closely with mechanic to schedule equipment maintenance, repairs, & inspections
  • Perform data entry into software applications and/or Microsoft Excel for labor and equipment.
  • Monitor, review, edit, and adjust labor hours on employee timecard and payroll, preparing final review and approval by manager.
  • Update dispatch job board daily by adding and cancelling pending and confirmed jobs
  • Coordinate, track, and schedule drop off and pick up of all equipment and rentals related to jobs, including equipment from other MEI locations.
  • Communicate daily with job foreman and drivers for efficiency of scheduling and dispatch.
  • Responsible for all activities of the rigging operation from job site management to dispatching of crews.
  • Develop, plan, and implement schedules for rigging crew in alignment with customer direction.
  • Participate in the hiring, coaching, training and performance of rigging crew members with best management practices.
  • Work closely with safety personnel in coordinating safety training, accident and injury investigations and reporting and equipment or property damage incidents, investigations, and reporting.
  • Consistently demonstrate professional conduct representative of MEI corporate mission, vision, and values.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)
  • HS diploma with continuing education in Business, Project or Construction Management or related degree a plus.
  • Minimum two (2) years proven dispatching and/or operations experience or comparable field preferably withing the rigging, crane, logistics, or transportation industry.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Prior supervisory background or knowledge preferred.
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to make judgement calls, problem-solve, or act with limited information.
  • Ability to manage multiple people, job sites, and/or resources simultaneously.
Professional Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, supervisory and project management skills.
  • Highly self-directed and motivated.
  • Ability to excel and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Standard office environment including work at a computer terminal. Work can involve extended periods of sitting and walking and lifting up to 40 pounds. Must be able to drive to customer job sites and walk, stand, and move around customer job sites.
