Job description

About the Role:
Reporting to the Events Manager and part of the CMC Events Team, the Assistant Operations Manager manages and executes both third-party and self-produced CMC events. This role serves as the account lead for third-party clients and operational lead for CMC events, acting as liaison between clients and internal Events & Property teams.
This is not a standard 9:00-5:00 role-frequent evenings, weekends, and extended hours are required.
What You'll Do:
Events
• Serve as account lead for third-party clients: manage communications, provide customer service, conduct tours, coordinate logistics, manage onsite execution, resolve inquiries, and keep internal teams informed.
• Ensure compliance with operational policies in coordination with clients, vendors, and Property Operations.
• Lead execution of CMC self-produced events end-to-end, overseeing onsite operations as the Building Representative and team collaboration for optimal tenant, exhibitor, and attendee experience.
• Contribute experiential elements and activations to enhance event experiences.
Administrative
• Handle all administrative tasks for Event Operations including but not limited to: client communications, detailed meeting notes, production trackers, inventory tracking, etc.
• Manage all financials for Event Operations, including tracking expenses, managing budgets/timelines, financial reporting, vendor invoices, etc.
• Lead Event Operations-related team communications & organization, including providing summaries of newly booked third-party events to the extended team as well as operational updates in team meetings.
Logistics
• Manage inventory of equipment, signage, décor, props, and supplies ensuring organization and event readiness.
• Execute signage plans with Senior Marketing Manager, including delivery and installation.
• Interpret, create, and/or execute event floor plans.
• Review vendor COIs and assist in evaluating event insurance compliance.
Misc. Related
• Analyze processes and systems to improve event operations and team productivity.
• Support special projects across Events, Tenants, and Property Teams.
• Participate in outreach (calls, emails, site visits, meetings).
• Support customer service activities (registration, exhibitor relations, guest greeting, etc.).
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Experience in the areas of Event Operations, Logistics Coordination, or Client Services, preferably in a corporate or hospitality environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, and event management software.
Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset and the ability to adapt to any environment.
Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills by taking ownership of tasks independently while guiding team members to perform at their best, ensuring successful collaboration and outstanding event execution.
Strong understanding of budgeting and financial tracking.
Exceptional verbal and written communication for client interaction and internal collaboration.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Assistant Meeting & Events Manager position is $64,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Assistant Meeting & Events Manager position is $75,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
