American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro ICU position at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI, requiring 4 years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

• Work in a 27-bed Neurology ICU at a 933-bed Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI
• Primary patient population includes neurocritical care cases such as ischemic strokes (post-TNK, thrombectomies), hemorrhagic strokes (SAH, IPH, IVH, SDH), seizures, spinal surgeries, and brain mass resections/biopsies
• Non-neuro overflow patients include medical respiratory and general medical ICU cases
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2, with 1:3 for mixed acuity
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE monitors, and Medtronic EVDs
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating every-other basis
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to ED Holding (1:3-4), other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, CVICU), medical-surgical unit (1:3), sitter assignments, and PACU surge (1:3-4)

• Active WI or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Proficiency with ventilators, tracheostomies, arterial lines, vasopressor and sedation management, and central line blood draws
• Epic EMR experience required
• CVVH/CRRT and EVD experience preferred
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN collected within the last year
• Candidate must provide date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN, as well as middle name or initial for consideration

• Significant neuro-intensive care patients are assigned to core staff; travelers primarily support neuro-critical and overflow ICU care
• Department support includes CNAs (1:8-10 ratio), a Charge RN, Critical Care NPs (2 on days), Intensivists 24/7 (2 on days, 1 on nights), Hospitalists 24/7, RT 24/7, and Phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws
• Bedside telemetry and central monitoring at the nurse's station available on the unit
• Orientation includes a facility new employee orientation (NEO) and 1 shift of unit-specific orientation
• Scheduling is managed in 6-week increments; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved
• Facility adheres to a fatigue policy restricting all staff, including travelers, to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
• Scrubs must be any solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs
