We are searching for the right leader to strengthen our service department and drive long-term growth.


Position Overview

We are seeking a Service Manager with dealership experience and a proven track record of profitability and technician efficiency.


This opportunity is open to:

  • Experienced Service Managers with a history of success leading dealership service operations, OR
  • Assistant Service Managers who have the skills, leadership ability, and industry experience to step into a Service Manager role immediately.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands the medium and heavy-duty truck and engine industry, is focused on team culture and technician performance, and can balance customer satisfaction with financial success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all service department operations.
  • Drive profitability and efficiency by monitoring labor, workflow, and technician productivity.
  • Build and maintain a positive, accountable, team-focused culture.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor technicians and service advisors.
  • Ensure top-quality customer service and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with parts, sales, and warranty departments.
  • Track and report department performance while following the company's processes.
  • Ensure compliance with dealer, manufacturer, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Dealership service management experience required (Service Manager or Assistant Service Manager level).
  • Documented success in profitability and technician efficiency.

  • Solid understanding of medium and heavy-duty truck systems, engines, and repair operations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance customer needs with department profitability.

ADDITIONAL Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding time management and organization.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and Windows-based computer systems.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record required.
  • Ability to pass a background check required.
  • Ability to pass a drug test required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exempt and Non-Exempt Staff 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. 
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases. 
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires bending/stooping/kneeling/crouching/reaching for short periods. 
  • Requires occasional lifting of 5 to 20 pounds. 
  • Requires performing accurate, knowledgeable detailed work. 
  • Occasionally exposed to engine exhaust fumes. 
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noise. 
  • Works overtime as required. 
  • Requires mechanical knowledge and ability to train and teach technicians efficient skills needed to complete work correctly, minimizing comebacks and insuring customer satisfaction. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily in a service shop & office environment. 
  • Will be expected to travel as needed to company locations. 
  • Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.
