They cover a wide range of topics, including technology, personal development, business, health, and more. Some Medium writers are professionals or subject-matter experts, while others write as a hobby or to share personal experiences. Writers can earn money through the Medium Partner Program based on reader engagement, and they have access to a large, diverse audience. Anyone can sign up to write on Medium, making it an accessible platform for both new and experienced writers.

What are some common challenges faced by Medium writers when building an audience on the platform?

Medium writers often find it challenging to consistently attract and retain readers due to the platform's competitive environment. Building an audience typically requires producing high-quality, engaging content regularly and actively participating in the Medium community, such as commenting on and sharing other writers’ work. Writers also need to optimize their stories for Medium’s algorithms by using relevant tags and compelling headlines. Collaboration with publications and networking with other writers can further help expand reach and visibility.
