Position Summary
Stony Brook Community Medical, PC is seeking a dedicated and board-certified/board-eligible Physician to provide comprehensive care in both Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine. This hybrid role offers a balanced clinical practice, with approximately 50% focus on primary care/internal medicine and 50% on the evaluation and management of sleep disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality primary care services, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute care in an outpatient setting
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and related conditions
- Interpret sleep studies (polysomnography, home sleep testing) and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapists, specialists, and primary care providers
- Educate patients on sleep health, lifestyle modifications, and treatment adherence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold organizational standards of care

Position Requirements
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Fellowship training and/or Board Certification/Eligibility in Sleep Medicine preferred
- Active and unrestricted New York State medical license (or eligibility)
- DEA certification
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills

- Experience in outpatient primary care and sleep medicine practice
- Proficiency in interpreting sleep studies
- Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
Work Schedule
- Standard outpatient schedule (e.g., Monday-Friday)
