Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Medication Aide to join our compassionate team at our Residential Care Senior Living Facility in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a medication aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting our senior residents with medication management while ensuring their safety and comfort. If you have a passion for senior care and are committed to delivering high-quality service, we would love to hear from you!

*6pm-6am Shift*

What You'll Do:

  • Administer medications to residents accurately and timely, following care plans and under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Keep detailed, up-to-date medication records as per facility policies.
  • Maintain medication storage areas in compliance with regulations.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities when necessary.
  • Observe and report changes in residents’ health or well-being.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with families to keep them informed of their loved ones’ care, changes in condition, and medication updates.
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the best possible care for each resident.
  • Stay current with training and development in medication administration.

What We're Looking For:

  • Iowa Certification Medication Aide
  • Previous experience in a senior care or long-term care setting
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with families and the care team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
  • Ability to lift and assist residents (up to 50 pounds).
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening.
