Job Summary
Riverstone Memory Centre is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our memory care team. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing exceptional care to residents living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. The CMA will administer medications safely, assist residents with daily living activities, and work collaboratively with nurses and caregivers to ensure the highest quality of care in a supportive, resident-centered environment.
Responsibilities
  • Administer medications accurately and safely according to physician orders and state regulations.
  • Document medication administration and resident responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Monitor residents for side effects, changes in condition, and report concerns promptly to the licensed nurse.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility as needed.
  • Observe and document changes in residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive status.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and ensure proper medication storage.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, and other team members.
  • Promote residents' dignity, independence, and quality of life.
  • Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in care planning and team meetings as assigned.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and emergencies.

Qualifications
  • Current Texas Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification required.
  • Current Texas Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or skilled nursing preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation.
  • Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
