This LCSW position is fully remote, allowing you the comfort and convenience of a home office while working closely with committed healthcare professionals. You will engage in team meetings, consultations, and case discussions via video conferencing and other digital platforms, promoting seamless communication that enhances patient care. A flexible work schedule will be required, including the potential for day, evening, and weekend shifts based on the needs of our detox center.

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to understand the complex emotional and social needs of patients entering the detox program.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, offering both individual and group counseling to facilitate coping and adjustment to substance use treatment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to ensure that treatment strategies align with patient psychosocial needs and overall healthcare goals.
• Facilitate crisis intervention sessions to address immediate emotional distress, ensuring patients feel supported during critical moments.
• Coordinate with community resources and agencies to arrange aftercare or post-discharge services that promote continued recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with legal requirements and organizational policies to ensure compliance and enable continuity of care.
• Participate in clinical meetings and committees, offering insights and expertise regarding social work practices and standards.

This role primarily focuses on patients in detoxification, who may grapple with a range of challenges relating to substance use disorders. You will engage with individuals who are often facing significant psychological and social hurdles, including trauma, anxiety, and crises related to addiction. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in helping them navigate their treatment process and in connecting them with essential resources for a successful recovery.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia.

• Two years of experience in a healthcare or hospital setting, particularly working with patients facing substance use disorders.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, mental health disorders, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Demonstrated strength in communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
