HEALTH AIDE & LIBRARY ASSISTANT

Position Narrative:ย 

Administers first aid and prescribed medical care to students. Oversees the inventory of library books and ensures that the required textbooks are available when needed.ย 

Reports to:ย  Administrative Assistant

Heath Aide Responsibilities Include:ย 

  • Operates the school clinic, providing general healthcare for students.ย 
  • Protects the privacy of students and the clinic environment.ย 
  • Communicates health concerns with parents.ย 
  • Updates and maintains student medical records.ย 
  • Updates and maintains health equipment (medical supplies, AED, etc.).ย 
  • Coordinates and/or trains personnel on health or safety issues.ย 
  • Other duties as assignedย 

Library Assistant Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages the textbook inventory and assignments.
  • Distributes textbooks to classrooms.ย 
  • Checks the textbooks in, checks them out, and manages repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory database.ย 
  • Keeps the textbook vault(s) neat and organized.ย 
  • Assists as needed in student assessmentย 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:ย ย

Ability to maintain confidentiality in all mattersย 

Excellent office administration skills; including written and oral communications skillsย 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, volunteers, students and parentsย
