Position Overview

Motion Matrix Therapeutics is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Early Interventional Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity for therapists who are eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children at risk for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In this position, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging in comprehensive evaluations and developing tailored treatment plans to help children achieve their fullest potential.

Work Environment

As an Occupational Therapist at our Early Interventional Center, you will work in an onsite facility designed for child-centered therapy. Our clinic is equipped with the latest tools and resources necessary to conduct thorough assessments and deliver high-quality therapeutic services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of new patients to determine their occupational therapy needs, establishing measurable and achievable goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, continually adapting strategies as the patient progresses.
  • Document all patient evaluations, treatments, and interactions meticulously to ensure accurate medical records and promote continuity of care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding occupational therapy interventions and important aspects of the patient’s condition, fostering better understanding and engagement in their care.
  • Collaborate with a diverse rehabilitation team, including speech therapists, physical therapists, and special educators, to ensure holistic support for each patient.
  • Maintain communication with referring physicians to share progress updates and suggest revisions to treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Supervise and guide occupational therapy assistants and students, promoting a culture of learning and professional development.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and program development initiatives to enhance service delivery and community outreach.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through workshops, conferences, and active engagement with professional associations in occupational therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on children who are at risk for autism spectrum disorder and may benefit from early intervention to support their developmental milestones. Working in a supportive environment, you will tailor your interventions to meet the diverse needs of each child, leveraging a range of therapeutic techniques that enhance their physical, sensory, and cognitive skills.

Qualifications
  • Licensure in Occupational Therapy in the State of Connecticut is required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to prioritize patient care effectively while working under pressure.
  • Proficiency in handling confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends may be necessary to accommodate patient schedules.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in pediatric occupational therapy, particularly in assessing and treating children with developmental delays and ASD.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Participation in early intervention programs or direct involvement with families in a therapeutic setting is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
