What You'll Do
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you'll play a critical role in patient care before, during, and after procedures.
Responsibilities include:
  • Providing exceptional nursing care to surgical patients
  • Monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery
  • Placing and maintaining peripheral IV catheters
  • Setting up and troubleshooting fluid therapy equipment
  • Administering CRIs and fluid therapy
  • Monitoring patient response and recognizing complications early
  • Maintaining sterility and surgical standards
  • Collaborating closely with surgeons and specialty teams
  • Performing detailed patient assessments and physical exams

Skills & Experience We're Looking For
You are confident and experienced with:
  • Venipuncture
  • Peripheral IV catheter placement
  • Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • CRIs and medical math
  • Ventilator use
  • Surgical scrub and sterile technique
  • Monitoring abnormal pressures and patient trends
  • IV fluid pumps and anesthetic equipment
  • NG/NE tube placement
  • Recognizing abnormal heart and lung sounds
  • Advanced patient monitoring and nursing care
