BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to work in our busy Emergency department.
We are now offering a Sign-On Bonus for up to $12,000!
+ optional moving allowance if a qualified candidate is relocating!
Pay: $30.00 - $42.50 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment.
** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience*
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.
*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
For example:
  • Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

As a Licensed Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
