Position Summary


The CAD Drafter / SolidWorks Drafter is responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and models for precast concrete products based on customer specifications, field data, and company plan standards. This role supports production, customers, and internal teams by producing clear, buildable drawings that reduce errors and support efficient manufacturing.


This is a strong opportunity for someone with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD experience who wants to grow in a manufacturing and infrastructure-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting & Design
  • Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Produce structural drawings for products including concrete walls, covers, and bases
  • Develop drawings from customer specifications, verbal instruction, and field data
  • Revise drawings based on approved change requests in a timely manner
  • Create drawings that meet company standards and minimize production or customer error
Project & Production Support
  • Support internal teams with clear, organized, buildable drawings
  • Identify opportunities to reduce construction costs and add value
  • Prepare required reports, documentation, and related paperwork
  • Maintain organized files and an efficient workspace
Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and structural soundness of drawings
  • Maintain knowledge of drafting tools, standards, and developing technology
  • Support other CAD-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in drafting/design or equivalent related experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CSWA certification preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, structural, or industrial drafting
  • Experience creating technical drawings tied to production or field conditions


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Office setting connected to a manufacturing plant
  • Frequent computer and keyboard use
